SUMMARY:15th April 2025 Guest Artist Night
DESCRIPTION:Our April Meeting is going to be a guest artist night!  It’s the first guest artist night since before the Covid shutdown.  The night will feature local players on stage to warm the audience up before Walter Perrie and Helen Rich perform their first guest artist spot of the night. After the break we will see local players start the second half of the night before Walter and Helen perform their second spot of the night\, taking us up to 11pm. I am looking forward to seeing Walter and Helen and I hope you can support them by attending. \nDoors open at 8pm   As usual there will be Tea and Coffee on sale at 20p a Cup. \nEntry Costs £4 \nPlease bring yourselves and your accordion if you have one. \n

SUMMARY:15th March 2017- Jovan Rnjak
DESCRIPTION:Our March Guest Artist is Jovan Rnjak who has not visited the club before but who I have seen play many times at Accordion Festivals. Here is a little bit of history about Jovan. \nJovan was born in Birmingham\, England and started playing the accordion at age 7\, soon after he started accordion lessons at the George Clay School Of Music in Birmingham where he stayed till he was 15 years old. As a child when Jovan was working through his grades he joined the school choir\, where he sang\, played the recorder and Glockenspiel. It was during this time that he started to perform at local venues.   After completing his grades\, Jovan continued to study music at senior school where he learnt to play the clarinet as a second instrument. In his late teens\, Jovan continued to perform all round the UK and at the age of 17 toured Canada and the USA playing with a folk dance group.   Today Jovan continues to perform at all kinds of events\, playing all styles of music either as a soloist or as a member of a group of musicians. \nThis evening we will have Jovan to perform for us\, they will also be supported by our local players there are spots at the start of the evening and also just after the break before Jovan takes us through to 11pm. Do bring your accordion if you play.\nAs always non accordion players and audience members are very welcome at these evening to join in the music and fun. \nPrice at the door:\nMembers and First Timers: £4 Non Members: £5 \nDrinks are available from the Bar\, there will also be tea & coffee available at the breaks for 20p a cup.
