Leyland Accordion Club - 19th June 2013

Our June Concert

Our June Concert Started with John Robinson playing By The Tokens, The Lion Sleeps Tonight, the well known Proclaimers tune 500 Miles, Just Another Guy and Rare Old Mountain Dew. Our next player was David Rigby playing In The Good Old Summertime, Irish Eyes, Daisy, The Spinning Wheel, The Mountains Of Mourne, My Bonny, Snow Waltz, Amazing Grace and Highland Cathedral. Next up was Patrick Halpin played Galway Bay, Dark Island, Go Lassie Go and Spancil Hill. Our next player was John Lennox, John started with Cabaret then continued with Two Ladies, If You Could See Her, La Vie-En-Rose, Padam Padam and Shine Another Glass. It was now break time, and chance for people to take a look through and choose pieces from the free sheet music which had been donated to the club by Albert Drapers daughter. After the break Ann Parker started the next session with My Treasure and Beautiful Days, then finished with Waves Of The Danube. It was time for Colin Ensor to play, Colin gave us Any Old Time Footsteps Of a Fool, My Irish Molly, My Sweet Liverpool and Sweetheart Of All My Dreams. I then took my turn playing Whispering Hope, American Patrol, Red White and Blue, Can’t Help Falling In Love, Cruising Down The River, I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles, Down At The Old Bull and Bush, She’s A Lassie From Lancashire, A Yorkshire Girl, A Gordon For Me, I Belong To Glasgow and Keep Right On To The End Of The Road. Bernard Belshaw was our next player, he played Jambalaya, We Shall Not Be Moved, Country Roads, Island Or Dreams, Morning Town Ride and This Land Is Your Land. It was getting close to the end of the night now, time for Sara Daly to take to the stage, Sara entertained us with Dashing Away With The Smoothing Iron, Ilkley Moor, BahT’at, I’m Going To Marry A Far Nicer Boy, Dixie and Envikens Waltz. To finish the night Rebecca Parker took to the stage and played us out with Moon River and Home on the Range. Thanks to all the players who played, it was a great night. Its nice to see all the talent developing, its no surprise that the more you have a go the better you get at it, and its showing.

The Sheet music will also be out on a table or two at the next local players night on the 17th.
