Our October ConcertAt our October concert, Bill Agnew started the night with Wheels, Never On A Sunday, Who’s Sorry Now, The Bells Are Ringing and Scotland The Brave. Our next player Steve Heap played You’ve Got A Friend, When Do I Need You Most and The Last Thing On My Mind. It was Colin Ensor's turn to play. Colin started with Down Forget Me Not Lane, then continued with Million Dollar Baby, Freight Train, La Vie En Rose, Under Paris Skies and Yellow Bird. Harry Davies took to the stage, playing Stranger On The Shore, Jean, Spanish Eyes, Matchstalk Cats & Dogs and Memory. Our next player John Lennox started with Where Do You Go To My Lovely, then continued with Speak Softly Love (from The Godfather) and La Vie En Rose. It was my turn, so I just played two tunes, Oslo Waltz and Black Mask Waltz. After the Break, we started the second section with Basil Berry playing Whispering, Dancing In The Dark, Autumn Leaves, J’Attendrai and A Man And A Woman. Bernard Belshaw was next on to the stage, starting with Blaze Away, then continue with You’re Just In Love, Allo Allo, Radetzky March, Thunderbirds Are Go, Dambusters March, Time After Time, El Cumbanchero And Tico Tico. Our next player, Graham Driver, played Rochdale Coconut Dance, Lovely Nancy, Weasle’s Revenge, Man In The Moon and Staten Island. Colin Ensor then took to the stage for a second time, playing Once In A While, Autumn Leaves, Dancing With Tears In My Eyes, You Are Everywhere, All Of Me and Who’s Taking Me Home Tonight. It was getting near to the end of the night as Bill Agnew started his session with A Wee Dock n Doris, Keep Right On To The End Of The Road, It’s A Long Way To Tipperary, Someone To Watch Over Me, You Belong To Me, Cigarettes And Whiskey, Daisy, Let Me Call You Sweetheart, I’ll Be Your Sweetheart, What Do Want To Make Those Eyes At Me For, Mocking Bird Hill, Blue Danube, Cuckoo Waltz, Peg o’ My Heart and Glencoe. Once again it has been a great night of entertainment from our local players David Batty |

Club MembershipI have again decided to keep club membership at £5 per year. This gets you this lovely newsletter delivered through the post every month and also gives you the £1 discount on each concert night. The £5 is just enough to cover stamps and envelopes for the year. You can pay your membership between now and January at any of the club nights, just see Elaine on the door. We gained four new members at our last practice night after finding us on the Internet. It's nice to see new people discovering the club.

NewslettersI have sent out newsletters this month to a number of people who have attended the club in the past but who havent been for a while. We normally collect old newsletters for redistributing at the club, they are on the table near to the door, please take some if you know someone that may be interested in seeing them, or, if you are new to the club, you can catch up by reading some old copies. |
This Wednesday This Wednesday is our guest artist concert, featuring 3 hours of entertainment and fun with guest Barry Graham supported by local players (don't forget your accordions). Barry has played for us once before when he made his guest artist debut. He plays a wide variety of music and is a very entertaining player. As usual, the doors open at 7.30 for an 8pm start. Make sure you turn up early for a good seat. Please bring your family and friends. I will see you on Wednesday.

Eastbourne Festivals Hotel ChangeEastbourne Festivals are moving hotels. The New hotels are still on the sea front and only a few streets away from The Cumberland Hotel. The Hotel For the February 2009 Festival is The Queens Hotel, the price per person is £199. The Line Up for the February festival is Steve Roxton, Stefan Andrusyschyn, Ian Watson, Julie North, Harry Hussey and Gennaro Fiondella. The October 2009 the festival will be moving to The Eastbourne Centre, this place has been recently refurbished. The price for the October festival is £215. Refurbished Accordion for SaleRecently I had one of my accordions completely tuned and serviced by Birmingham Accordion Centre. This is a Scandalli accordion that you haven't seen played at the club before. Since having the accordion completely tuned, I have decided to purchase a five voice Bugari! So for that reason, I am selling this one to make room for another accordion in the house, and to contribute to funding my forthcoming purchase. The accordion for sale is a Black Scandalli Custom Built Model. It has 9 treble couplers with 2 repeats, 2 bass couplers, 41 Keys and 120 Bass buttons.
