Our Website

Our Internet website has had 122,979 visitors as at the 15th November 2008, that's 1253 visitors since last month. Since last month we have added a list of melodions to Birmingham Accordion Centres new website as well as well as updated the accordion stock list

Club Membership

I have again decided to keep club membership at £5 per year. This gets you this lovely newsletter delivered through the post every month and also gives you the £1 discount on each concert night. The £5 is just enough to cover stamps and envelopes for the year. You can pay your membership between now and January at any of the club nights, just see Elaine on the door. We gained four new members at our last practice night after finding us on the Internet. It's nice to see new people discovering the club.

Newsletters

I have sent out newsletters this month to a number of people who have attended the club in the past but who havent been for a while. We normally collect old newsletters for redistributing at the club, they are on the table near to the door, please take some if you know someone that may be interested in seeing them, or, if you are new to the club, you can catch up by reading some old copies.

This Wednesday

This Wednesday is our guest artist concert, featuring 3 hours of entertainment and fun with guest Barry Graham supported by local players (don't forget your accordions). Barry has played for us once before when he made his guest artist debut. He plays a wide variety of music and is a very entertaining player. As usual, the doors open at 7.30 for an 8pm start. Make sure you turn up early for a good seat. Please bring your family and friends. I will see you on Wednesday.
David Batty

Refurbished Accordion for Sale

Recently I had one of my accordions completely tuned and serviced by Birmingham Accordion Centre. This is a Scandalli accordion that you haven't seen played at the club before. Since having the accordion completely tuned, I have decided to purchase a five voice Bugari! So for that reason, I am selling this one to make room for another accordion in the house, and to contribute to funding my forthcoming purchase. The accordion for sale is a Black Scandalli Custom Built Model. It has 9 treble couplers with 2 repeats, 2 bass couplers, 41 Keys and 120 Bass buttons. The accordion is priced at £450 for a quick sale. Telephone myself David Batty on 01772 454328, or see the accordion at the club on Wendesday. Its probably rare to find an accordion for sale that has just had a complete overhaul and tuning but I didnt know this other one was coming up for sale!

A to Z of The Accordion

If you are looking for a book suitable for a Christmas Present for an accordionist then you might be interested in being reminded that An A to Z of the Accordion is still available, and these are always especially popular as Christmas presents. Each volume costs £15 (special offer: 2 volumes for £25 or all 3 volumes for £35) + £4 p/p. Just give Rob Howard a call on (0161) 480 8858.
